J.W. Patterson Interview
I recently had an opportunity to sit down and talk with Mr. Patterson about his Auto Consulting business opportunity. During our conversation, Mr. Patterson stated that after being in business for more than 27 years he knows what people are looking for in a business. Mr. Patterson put it very elegantly when he stated, "It is important that when you get into a business that it will fit both your personality and your financial goals."
He went on to say, "For some, money is not important, it's the flexibility of being able to spend time with their families. And yet others are unhappy with their current income. They know at their current pace they will not be able to provide college tuition for their children, or have financial security when they retire."
J.W. Patterson started his career in the automotive industry back in the 1960's as a car dealer. He was immediately successful and was quickly promoted to Manager and then General Manager of several major Kansas City car dealerships. He received numerous sales awards and was recognized for his profound ability to turn a struggling dealership into a profitable dealership, in a short period of time. His abilities became as marketable as the vehicles themselves. After reaching a plateau, Mr. Patterson was offered a partnership in the largest Multi-Franchise Auto Mall in the Kansas City Area.
In 1979, he had a vision that his customers would be more comfortable buying their cars with less stress, and in less time. Mr. Patterson incorporated his vast knowledge of the automotive sales industry into a service that emphasized the importance of, and need for, customer service.
Quality Customer Service became the pinnacle of Mr. Patterson's new car consulting business which has grown very rapidly since its inception. This is attributed to the growing awareness and severe need for consumer assistance in the new car buying marketplace.
What started as American Auto Consultants soon became Auto Professionals LLC as the business was expanded to include Canada and Mexico. J.W.'s consultants now offer their services throughout all of North America.
Mr. Patterson continues to live in the Kansas City area where he started his automotive career. While he's gone by John, Jay and Mr. Patterson over the years, most of his friends just call him J.W.
Mr. Patterson left me with this thought. "Success is a word with a different meaning for everyone.
